How do I create a birthday wish list or holiday gift list?

Head to your wish lists page and create a new list. Give it a name and, if you like, an occasion date. You can drop it straight into a folder too, which helps when you’re juggling Christmas, weddings, birthdays, and lists for particular people.

How do I organize multiple wish lists?

Folders. Create them on your wish lists page and put each list in one, or move lists between them later. Group by occasion, by person, or however suits you, then open a folder to focus on just those lists.

How does Nifty Gifts make receiving gifts easier?

A wish list lets you share ideas without asking for one exact present. Add things you like, include notes or priorities, and send the list when someone asks.

What does archiving a wish list do?

It moves the list out of your active view once an event is over. Nothing is deleted, and owners can restore an archived list anytime from the archived filter.

What can each gift idea include?

A title, a note, a product link, a photo, a desirability rating, and a quantity if you need more than one. Everything except the title is optional.

Can I add product links from any store to my online wish list?

Yes. Paste a URL from any retailer, or skip the link and add a plain text idea. Owners and editors can edit titles, notes, and links later.

What happens if I add the same product URL twice?

The app notices and nudges you toward updating the existing gift instead, so your list doesn’t fill up with repeats.

Can I move or copy gifts between wish lists?

Yes. Use transfer to copy or move selected items to another list you can access. It’s handy for reusing ideas from a birthday list on a holiday list.

What is the difference between owner, editor, and gift-giver?

Owners run the list: settings, members, everything. Editors manage the gift ideas. Gift-givers can see gift ideas but can’t edit the list. They can reserve items and mark them as purchased using their free Nifty Gifts account.

How do I invite collaborators to a wish list?

Invite people by email straight from the wish list. You can also turn on a share link or download its QR code when named invitations aren’t practical.

Can I remove a collaborator or change roles later?

Yes. Owners can change roles or remove people whenever they need to, and pending invites can be revoked before they’re accepted.

Is my wish list listed publicly on the web?

No. There’s no public directory of wish lists. New lists start with just the owner. Invited people can access a list with their accounts; if link sharing is on, anyone who gets the link can view it. Read more about using a private wish list.

How does link sharing work?

Turn on link sharing and send the link or its QR code. Anyone who obtains the full link can view the list, even if they weren’t invited by email, so send it only to people you trust. You can replace the link later to disable the old one.

What is surprise mode?

It hides other people’s reservations and purchases from you on your own list, while everyone helping with gifts still sees the full picture. Turn surprise mode off in your list settings whenever you want to see what’s been reserved or bought. Learn more in our surprise wish list guide.

When do I see what's been reserved or bought?

Only when surprise mode is off. While it is on, gift-givers see everything and you don't - turn it off whenever you're ready.

What kinds of events or occasions can I use Nifty Gifts for?

A list is just a name and an optional date, so it fits whatever you’re celebrating. People use it for big life moments, seasonal holidays such as Christmas and birthdays, cultural and religious observances, family gatherings, school and work milestones, and plenty of traditions that don’t fit a neat category. How do gift reservations help people coordinate gifts?

When someone reserves an item, everyone helping can see it’s taken and focus on the other ideas they’d love. It also reduces accidental duplicates. See our guides on getting gifts people genuinely want and gift reservations.

Can I mark reserved items as purchased or undo a purchase?

Yes to both. Mark quantities as purchased, undo the status if plans change, and release a reservation to make the item available again.

Can I turn off some notification types?

Yes. Notification settings let you switch each category on or off: invites, membership updates, changes collaborators make to your lists, and reservation or purchase activity.

Can I delete my account?

How does the browser extension and quick capture work?

Install the extension and you can save gift ideas while you shop, with the title and link filled in for you. See our browser extension page for Chrome and Firefox, Microsoft Edge via the Chrome Web Store, and Safari for Mac when available.

Do you have a mobile app?

Not yet, but it’s on the roadmap. The web app works well on a phone in the meantime.

Why is there no subscription fee?
